A Warming Fire, One English November

David Myatt

°°°°°°°

Recently, in the cold of an English November, I was seated before a fireplace of warming burning logs {1} pondering on the writings of a certain David Myatt.

Reading such works of his as Tu Es Diaboli Ianua, {2} and Classical Paganism And The Christian Ethos, {3} his translation of and commentary on chapters one to five of the Gospel of John, {4} and his translation of and commentaries on various tractates of the Corpus Hermeticum. {5}

A short walk away from this fireplace, my rooms in an Oxford college where centuries of scholarship seep out from the Oak panelling, from the books on the bookshelves, from the elder wooden desk, and even (sometimes) from the digital texts that “a computer” almost miraculously make visible to me.

For such is how I came to read before a certain warming fire certain “heretical” texts, relevant as they seemed to be given my predilection for Greco-Roman culture and its literature, and sent to me as those Myattian texts were by an Oxfordian colleague.

What astonished me, after reading those unpolitical texts, was – as I discovered – how Myatt was prejudged by various political factions who seemed to make assumptions about him and his past activities without having commented upon – or perhaps without even having read – his texts such as Tu Es Diaboli Ianua and his translations of and commentaries on various tractates of the Corpus Hermeticum.

Where, I wondered, were their comments – their scholarly analysis – of such texts of his? Apparently there are no such comments, no such scholarly analysis. Instead, all they offer are tirades based, apparently, on their adoptive slogan НЕ ЗАБУДЕМ! НЕ ПРОСТИМ! (Never Forget, Never Forgive) and on their “fake news” {6}, that is, upon lies, disinformation, and propaganda. Such a tribute, it seems, to our modern world.

Where, for example to provide just one example among dozens, is their rational comment on what Myatt describes in his monograph Tu Es Diaboli Ianua as the fact that the

“culture of pathei-mathos reveals to us the beauty, the numinosity, of personal love; the numinosity of humility, and compassion; and the tragic lamentable unnecessary suffering caused by hubris, dishonour, selfishness, inconsiderance, intolerance, prejudice, hatred, war, extremism, and ideologies. A world-wide suffering so evident, today, for example in the treatment of and the violence (by men) toward women; in the continuing armed conflicts – regional and local, over some-thing – that displace tens of thousands of people and cause destruction, injury, and hundreds of thousands of deaths; and evident also in the killing of innocent people by those who adhere to a harsh interpretation of some religion or some political ideology”.

Where is the understanding, the empathy, of Myatt the author by those who politically declare they are championing hope not hate? There seems to be no such understanding, no such the empathy. Instead, there seems to be propaganda, accusations, based on the Soviet slogan НЕ ЗАБУДЕМ! НЕ ПРОСТИМ! – “Never Forget, Never Forgive”.

For such politicos make accusations about individuals and then move-on to whomsoever else they declare are transgressing whatever boundaries – whatever denotata – they themselves in what they believe is their “righteous crusade” are fighting and thus are in opposition to. For according to them, with their idealogical certitude: Never Forget, Never Forgive.

Thus are they, unknowingly – or perhaps knowingly – cultivating, causing, hatred rather than hope. Cultivating, causing, conflict based on their stereotyping of whomsoever they with their hubriatic certitude of knowing declare are their enemies.

For myself, I take refuge in reading – before a warming fire of logs – Myattian texts such as Tu Es Diaboli Ianua and his translations of and commentaries on various tractates of the Corpus Hermeticum, intuitively aware as I am (rightly or wrongly) that over centuries such wisdom as such scholarly texts reveal transcends such political, such unempathic, such hateful, slogans as НЕ ЗАБУДЕМ! НЕ ПРОСТИМ!

Concerning Extremism and Race

David Myatt

°°°°°°°°°

Editorial Note

We reproduce here a semi-autobiographical article by David Myatt written in 2012 in which he explains, in the then context of his ‘numinous way’, why the abstraction of ‘race’ is immoral and why ‘extremism’ – with its hatred – is morally wrong.

That such articles by Myatt have been ignored by the likes of the anti-fascist so-called “Hope Not Hate” group – who should really be described as Hate Not Hope {1} – is no suprise to us given their dependance on abstractions and their desire to propagate “fake news” {2}.

It should be noted that some of the items quoted or mentioned in Myatt’s article – in reference to his ‘numinous way’ such as his Rejecting Abstractions: A Personal Lesson From Extremism – are now only available in archived versions of his 2012 weblog (davidmyatt.wordpress.com) and website (davidmyatt.info).

A Rotten System

odal3

°°°°°°°

We are not surprised that mainstream newspapers publish the propaganda lies of a hateful propagandist financed by a Zionist billionaire {1} without bothering to check the facts or give the person who is being lied about the opportunity to give their side of the story.

For that is how the vast majority of newspapers now operate: as purveyors of gossip and propaganda with little or no regard for the truth knowing full well that ordinary citizens in a land such as Britain will not sue for libel because they cannot afford to since only the wealthy can afford to pursue a claim of defamation through courts of law.

In other words the journalists and publishers of such newspapers are part of the rotten and rotting system that exists in nearly all the lands of the modern materialistic West, led as those lands are by egoistic politicians or, as Myatt wrote in 2010 in a perceptive essay {2} by politicians with their own personal (sometimes emotive) political agenda and/or by the agendas of whatever special interest groups have helped them get elected.

“Such special interest groups invariably include those with particular business and political concerns who have the financial resources to employ professional lobbyists, Media consultants, and propagandists.

The result is that the political party and/or particular advocacy groups who have the most money during elections campaigns, and who have the support of a substantial part of the Media, and/or who have a candidate for high office who is a persuasive public speaker, influence the result of elections, having persuaded or influenced the percentage of people necessary to win an election.

In other words, modern elections have become an often cynical process of targeting, persuading, and influencing, people […]

[Another] problem with modern democracy is that modern politicians – with only a few exceptions – have mastered and use the art of propaganda, evident in their inability to be open and honest about their own failings and culpability while in public office, and in their inability to be honest about the failure of the policies of their government. Instead, they are adroit at manufacturing excuses, or shifting the blame away from themselves and government policies, or are disingenuous when answering questions or when addressing concerns about their culpability or that of their government […]

The always well-off political clique will continue to laud it over the poor and those whose ‘front-line’ public service keeps society functioning. The self-perpetuating political clique will continue to makes excuses for their own failures, for declining public services, for government failure to solve social problems, and for increasing poverty, homelessness, and crime.” {2}

Myatt’s solution is somewhat reminiscent of the idealism inherent in both fascism and National Socialism, albeit that this idealism has been been almost air-brushed out of history by concerted anti-fascist and anti-NS propaganda campaigns during and after the Second World War. Propaganda campaigns such as the ones about “the holocaust” which continue to this day; and propaganda campaigns such as the one being waged today by a “grubby little propagandist” at the behest of a Zionist billionaire which involves rants about fascist and nazi “hate” speech, the hateful dehumanizing of opponents, the praising of multi-racialism, and telling lies about people, all under the pretence of “defeating hate”.

Myatt wrote that the solution is

“to reform modern democracy so that leaders and politicians must have such personal character-revealing experience as qualifies them to lead and to govern, with that personal experience consisting of proven and years-long ‘front line’ service to their country and to their people such as in the armed forces or serving as a ‘first responder’ in such occupations as paramedic, a police officer, and in the Fire & Rescue service.”

This solution could easily be applied to broadcasters, to journalists, to the publishers of newspapers and to the owners of media organizations.

Until the day of such reforms arrives the purveyors of gossip and propaganda via means such as newspapers and ‘special interest’ groups will continue with their grubby trade.

A Grubby Little Propagandist

Nick Lowles

°°°°°°°°°

Nick Lowles – born 1968, aka Nicholas Lloyd Lowles, and leader of the leftist group Hate Not Hope {1} financed by Zionist billionaire George Soros – has used his Media connections and those of his mentor Soros to call for an immediate police investigation into the anti-Zionist Order of Nine Angles and into David Myatt’s role in it.

Lowles told reporters that “the Order of Nine Angles is the world’s most extreme satanist group and its key objective is to cause the overthrow of society”.

He went on to repeat his propaganda lies about the O9A and to repeat his libellous allegation that Myatt is “a key figure in the Order of Nine Angles” for which allegation he did not provide, and never has provided, any evidence whatsoever, ignoring as he does in his propaganda rants Myatt’s extensive post-2011 writings about his mystic Numinous Way (the philosophy of pathei-mathos) and about Myatt’s rejection of extremism, a rejection explained in Myatt’s books such as Understanding And Rejecting Extremism {2} and in his autobiography Myngath {3}.

That chameleon Lowles has an abiding hatred of Myatt, dating from the 1990s, is well-known in fascist circles with Lowles sometimes being referred to as “the poison dwarf”.

Yet in Aeonic terms Myatt may well have the last laugh. For the following quotation and comment was posted on an internet forum devoted to the views and life-stories of women on the same day that motor-mouth Lowles was yet again busy spreading his grubby hateful lies about Myatt to any reporters who would listen.

[begin quote]

“The uncomfortable truth is that we, we men, are and have been the ones causing, needing, participating in, wars and conflicts. We – not women – are the cause of most of the suffering, death, destruction, hate, violence, brutality, and killing, that has occurred and which is still occurring, thousand year upon thousand year; just as we are the ones who seek to be – or who often need to be – prideful and ‘in control’; and the ones who through greed or alleged need or because of some ideation have saught to exploit not only other human beings but the Earth itself. We are also masters of deception; of the lie. Cunning with our excuses, cunning in persuasion, and skilled at inciting hatred and violence. And yet we men have also shown ourselves to be, over thousands of years, valourous; capable of noble, selfless, deeds. Capable of doing what is fair and restraining ourselves from doing what is unethical. Capable of a great and a gentle love. This paradoxy continues to perplex me.” {4}

Pretty inspiring words coming from a former extremist.

[end quote]

For history teaches us that propaganda lies, over centuries, seldom if ever endure.

Full Of Hate Not Hope

David Myatt

°°°°°°°°°

While the anti-fascist and much Media-hyped organization calling itself “Hope Not Hate” goes on and on about “right-wing” hate its own agenda seems to be founded on hate, on an “us” against “them” dialectical and hateful attitude and narrative.

Thus “Hope Not Hate” does not reach out in a compassionate, hopeful, way to what it propagandistically refers to as “right-wing” extremists but persists in trying to demean and dehumanize them in the manner of hack journalists.

Hence their propagandistic use of expressions in recent articles such as “far-right motor-mouth”, “even by their very low standards”, “cerebrally challenged”, “a longstanding joke even in his own bedroom”, and that a certain person “reached for his finest Crayola”.

Are such expressions representative of hope – and of compassion, redemption – or of a hate engendered via a particular political ideology?

I recall an article in which Sonia Gable – wife of Gerry Gable, founder of the anti-fascist magazine Searchlight – wrote some years ago in which she criticized certain anti-fascists (possibly even Hope Not Hate) for not respecting the truth since such organizations and individuals seemed fixated on propaganda, on disinformation, and on demeaning individuals.

A pertinent example of the demeaning, the disinformation, of the “Hope Not Hate” attitude toward their opponents is the meeting of Nick Lowles with David Myatt in 2001. {1}

Lowles – as ideological and religious extremists often are – was convinced Myatt was the “hateful” enemy. Thus did Lowles seek to demonize Myatt in that meeting by his subsequent descriptions of that meeting. Lowles apparently had no empathy, and did not reach out to Myatt in a compassionate, understanding, rational, human, way as officers from Special Branch had and did following their arrest of Myatt in 1998.

As Myatt noted in his 2012 essay A Matter Of Honour,

“could my career as an extremist have been brought to an earlier end had one or some of my opponents taken the trouble to get to know me personally and rationally revealed to me the error of my suffering-causing, unethical, extremist ways? Perhaps; perhaps not – I admit I do not know. I do know, however, how my personal interaction with, and the ethical behaviour of, the Police I interacted with from the time of my arrest by officers from SO12 in 1998, permanently changed (for the better) my attitude toward the Police.”

Could Lowles in that meeting with Myatt have reached out to him in a hopeful, a redemptive, a non-hateful, way and thus changed Myatt’s life for the better? Perhaps.

Does Lowles, and do other anti-fascists, ever contemplate how a hopeful – a redemptive, a personal interactive way, a more human, more compassionate – solution, is ethically superior to their current dialectical and impersonal hateful attitude?

We somehow doubt that they have ever contemplated such a hopeful compassionate solution. So for now the designation of an organization which calls itself “Hope Not Hate” seems inappropriate.

Do we laugh at their Old World shenanigans? At their commitment to Old World abstractions? No we do not. Instead we pity them as icons, and soon to be relicts, of the Old Magian Order.

As David Myatt – their hateful icon – was fond of quoting:

Δίκα δὲ τοῖς μὲν παθοῦσιν μαθεῖν ἐπιρρέπει

[The Goddess] Fairness favours someone learning from adversity
