Absque Vita Tali

Absque Vita Tali,
Verbum Quoad Litteram Est Mortuum

Outside, rain and the un-warm wind of December, with no Sun – no Summer – to warm and bring that joy of wakeing to see the sky deep full of blue so that one smiling is eager still, as youth again, to egress forth toward the sea.

Now I in a rainy month – and approaching my three score and ten – possess both an internal and an external knowing of just what the passing of earthly Time doth to we fragile biological beings, for:

I am an old man,
A dull head among windy spaces

And yet the flow of Life flows on, here – there – when the outer husk, failing, dies, so that I reminded of what I pastly wrote to a friend, having now been so gifted with the gifts of one more solar year:

“What, therefore, remains? What is there now, and what has there been? One genesis, and one ending, of one nexion whose perception by almost all others is now of one who lived and who wrote ἐξ αἰνιγμάτων.”

For there does seem much worth now, a special new species of slowly-joy, to so and so shadowly wander, supported by a stick, since Time itself, unmeasured, stills and one is able to feel the numinous as if flows through, with, such presencings of Life as one meets, greets, passes. As when that other day I walked to wander – never now far from home – and that young unknown stocky man, girlfriend beside and smiling, bade me compliments of the season. Such life there, such potential there, in both, and one was glad to be alive, still, even if no Sun broke forth in warmth. Or glad as when in slow walk in woods nearby wind shook trees to breathe again one’s wordless connexion with this living Earth, so strong so strong it became as if one could go back there to where one’s loved ones lived, unbroken by such selfish deeds as might have saved them or at least made happier their so short time on Earth. And I was so happy, so happy there remembering those good times, shared, with them.

There has thus grown, within because of age, both a new knowing of how needful is our need for compassion and of a new if sad perception: of just how many many centuries we forgetful biological beings may need. But all I can do now is walk, remembering, hoping: my words, my dreams, a bridge.

For I am no enigma, my life bared by writings such as this. For words live on to tell just one more story, of redemption. But who will read them when life lives within this husk no more?

Memories Of Manual Labour

Recalling happy memories of past years is perhaps a useful therapy during those seemingly long night hours when one is confined, in a foreign land, to a hospital bed and cannot, for a variety of reasons, enjoy the peace of sleep. During two such occasions, not that long ago, I found myself dwelling on my years of outdoor manual labour; on some four decades of cycling English lanes, tracks, and roads; and on the years spent running in the hills of South Shropshire and in places such as the Lake District.

In retrospection, this dwelling on such times quite surprised me, given my past married lives, my past predilection for the company of women, and the very many times I had been subsumed with love, or a passion, for a particular lady and had enjoyed with and because of them nights, days, weeks, sometimes months, of blissful happiness. Perhaps, I wondered, such a dwelling during such conditions revealed something about my character. Of how I am an outdoor, country, person by nature who by choice would choose to work alone; and someone perhaps too selfish, and too self-absorbed, to be a happily married man.

Suffice to write, now, that the memories that brought the most inner peace were those connected with outdoor work. Of those Summer days in Shropshire when – in the large garden of my employer – we would all sit down to enjoy our outdoor lunch prepared by his wife. Of days spent, over a decade later, on a farm in warm or hotful Sun, alone in a twenty-five or thirty acre field, forcing bamboo canes – many six feet in length – by hand into often hard ground next to recently budded trees planted in rows.

Of the dry dusty days of laying irrigation pipes and setting up the ‘rain gun’ sprinkler system with its large hose reel, enjoyed especially when the pump was the old Ford tractor with water drawn from the nearby river home to Kingfishers and bounded by many weeping Willow trees. Of, in early Spring, those cold days when the few of us out in the fields would sit around an open fire to eat our lunch.

Of those six straight weeks worked without a day off one Spring when, delayed by bad weather, we were finally able to prepare the soil and plant. Of those flash floods that flooded the lane beside one of the fields of the farm and of the car that became stuck, requiring two of us to bodily lift the lady driver out and carry her to dry land to later on fetch the tractor and tow her car from that lane back to the unaffected main road. Of the days spent one Autumn using a hand-held ‘thumper’ to erect new fence posts.

Of the hours, the days, the weeks, spent alone in fields hoeing the weeds out by hand from between the planted trees with my 1950s hoe whose long hickory handle years of use had made smooth. Of – years before, on another farm – the restful needful lunch (washed down by local cider) that followed hours of mucking-out pig sties by hand using a shovel and a barrow wheeled up a plank onto a trailer, hitched to a tractor, which when full I drove away then tipped to form or join another pile ready for the muck-spreader…

Had I then – during those years – the understanding and the self-insight I believe I now posses perhaps my life would, could, should, have been quite different and I would not have caused the suffering, and the deaths, that I caused. But was that person, so happily working in such places, the real me?

Yes, I do feel so, now. How then – why then – did I always seem to (after months, a year, or several years) drift away from such work back to occupy, preoccupy, myself with some political or some religious machination? It is just too easy, too trite, to say or write that I was a ‘complicated’ person. More truthfully, I was flawed, unhealthy. Suffering from extremism: for that infection wrought an inner dissatisfaction, and so greatly disturbed my psyche that I felt I had ‘a duty’ to do, and pontificate about, certain things. For that infection caused me, as so many others, to have that hubriatic certainty-of-knowing that engenders violence, hatred, terror, and oppression. I, as so many, had exchanged that real outdoor world – which centuries of toil had created – for some idealistic, ideological, dream we carried around in our head:

We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw

Our land, the dead land, while we extremists wreck havoc among the living land that provides us with the means to live and which, were we only to know it, nurtures the numinous from whence derives the culture that keeps our human hopes, our very humanity, alive.

For me – as for many others century following century – pathei-mathos was a cure. Yet there is not, and cannot be, any absolution: I was an ideologue, a leader, a fanatic, who enthusiastically taught, proselytized, persuaded, propagandised, and incited. Thus I alone was responsible for what I said, what I wrote, and what I did – for the suffering caused – during my extremist decades, just as I alone was responsible for the hurt my selfishness, my self-absorption, personally caused to others: wives, lovers, partners, family, relatives, and friends.

There appears to be, however, one small consolation, at least for me. Which is that such outdoor work – and reflexion upon it – slowly provided, slowly built within me, the insights and the feelings that led to that ‘numinous way’ I refined, after 2011, into my philosophy (or perhaps more correctly, into my weltanschauung) of pathei-mathos. Insights and feelings greatly added to in 2002 when I began work on another farm, and which work first led me to seriously doubt my commitment to the Muslim way of life, and write letters containing words such as these:

“There is a lovely, simple, pleasure here in this field. Spring is most certainly here: in the meadow fields, seedlings of the late Spring flowers push up through the tufts of grass whose frost-bitten ends are joined by shoots of new growth. Already some flowers bloom in the grass: there, a Dandelion; there: almost two circles of Daisies. And, to compliment the calls and songs of other birds, the loud repeating call of the Parus major.

It is good to be here, with an unobstructed view of the sky, and I watch the clouds, borne as they are on a still cool breeze that begins to chill my hands, a little. But there is Sun, warm, when the altocumulus breaks. On the horizon in the North, beyond the tall old Oak, small Cumulus clouds drift toward the hills, ten miles distant. Thus am I again – for these moments – at peace with myself, this world, listening as I do to a large flock of Starlings who chatter among themselves in the trees across from the drainage ditch, there by the copse of Ash, Oak, and a few young Beech […]

Work, yes there must be work: toil enough to keep that balance. And work with these my hands, outdoors where lives the silence that I love as I feel the weather, changing, bringing thus an empathic living for me, in me, and for this life that lives around, emanating as it does in this grass, those trees, the clouds, the soil, the water, those flowers, the very sky itself.”

But, as so often with me, the insights, the feelings, were swept away by not only my tempestuous inner need to do what I considered was then my duty but also by a life-long love of, a desire for, challenges, pontification, and conflict. Such insights, such feelings, were always – sooner or later – so swept away. Until that fateful day one May.

“The defining moment, for me – in terms of understanding myself, in terms of understanding politics and the error of my decades of extremism – was the tragic personal loss of a loved one in May 2006. In the hours following that event I just knew – tearfully knew without words – my own pathetic failure; what I had lost, what was important. Thus there came upon me that day a sense of overwhelming grief, compounded by a remembrance of another personal loss of a loved one thirteen years earlier. For it was as if in those intervening years I had learned nothing; as if I had made the life and the dying and death of Sue, in 1993 – and of what we shared in the years before – unimportant.

I have no words to describe how insignificant, how worthless, I felt that day in May 2006; no words to describe, recall, retell, the remorse, the pain. Suffice now to recount that my life was never, could never be, the same again. Gone – the arrogance that had sustained me for so many experiential decades. Gone – the beliefs, the abstractions, the extremisms, I had so cherished and so believed in.” No Words Of Mine Can Describe The Remorse

How stupid, how very stupid, I have been: for almost all of my adult life. That it required the shock, the personal trauma, of the suicide of the woman I loved to break my arrogance, my selfishness, my self-absorption – and cure me of my need for challenges, pontification, and conflict – most certainly reveals a lot about my character. That apparently jumelle nature of a person who found peace, contentment, in working outdoors with his hands but who also could not, in his weakness, resist that arrogant desire to zealously interfere in the lives of others, to propagandise and proselytize; an interference, a proselytism, born of a hubriatic certainty that he ‘knew’, that he ‘understood’, or that he had discovered the right way (political or religious) of living for others, and therefore had some sort of duty to act, wrecking havoc and causing suffering as he did so, always making excuses for himself. For every and any cause does so hallow havoc.

See with what heat these dogs of Hell advance
To waste and havoc yonder World, which I
So fair and good created, and had still
Kept in that state, had not the folly of Man
Let in these wasteful furies [1]

David Myatt, National Socialism, And The O9A

David Myatt

David Myatt, National Socialism, And The Order Of Nine Angles

°°°°°°°°°

Part One
Is David Myatt Still A Neo-Nazi?

While the question “is David Myatt still a neo-nazi” has been asked many times over the past six or seven years – with academics such as Senholt seeming to answer in the affirmative [1] and with Myatt himself consistently denying that he is – many items written by Myatt since 2010, and his reclusive lifestyle since 2010, seem to indicate that he is no longer a neo-nazi.

These items include his 2013 book about extremism titled Understanding and Rejecting Extremism: A Very Strange Peregrination; his autobiography Myngath; essays such as Persecution And War mentioned below in Part Two, as well as the articles he published in 2012 which were directly critical of National Socialism, the Third Reich, and Adolf Hitler [2] and which criticism led to one liberal and pro-Zionist website to describe Myatt as “having a change of heart” [3].

In one of those critical essays, Hitler, National-Socialism, and Politics – A Personal Reappraisal, he writes:

“There is thus, based on applying the moral criteria of The Numinous Way, a complete rejection by me of National-Socialism – of whatever kind – and an understanding of Hitler as a flawed individual who caused great suffering and whose actions and policies where dishonourable and immoral.”

In his essay Pathei-Mathos, Genesis of My Unknowing, quoted in the aforementioned book, he writes:

“For what I painfully, slowly, came to understand, via pathei-mathos, was the importance – the human necessity, the virtue – of love, and how love expresses or can express the numinous in the most sublime, the most human, way. Of how extremism (of whatever political or religious or ideological kind) places some abstraction, some ideation, some notion of duty to some ideation, before a personal love, before a knowing and an appreciation of the numinous. Thus does extremism – usurping such humanizing personal love – replace human love with an extreme, an unbalanced, an intemperate, passion for something abstract: some ideation, some ideal, some dogma, some ‘victory’, some-thing always supra-personal and always destructive of personal happiness, personal dreams, personal hopes; and always manifesting an impersonal harshness: the harshness of hatred, intolerance, certitude-of-knowing, unfairness, violence, prejudice.

Thus, instead of a natural and a human concern with what is local, personal and personally known, extremism breeds a desire to harshly interfere in the lives of others – personally unknown and personally distant – on the basis of such a hubriatic certitude-of-knowing that strife and suffering are inevitable. For there is in all extremists that stark lack of personal humility, that unbalance, that occurs when – as in all extremisms – what is masculous is emphasized and idealized and glorified to the detriment (internal, and external) of what is muliebral.” [4]

It is interesting and perhaps indicative that such forthright statements by him, such essays and books of his written since 2012, have been ignored by those who continue to propagate the claim that Myatt is still a neo-nazi and involved with the Occult movement the Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA). [5]

Indicative because of the propagandistic nature of the claim for which no facts which have probative value – no evidence – is ever presented, and interesting because for those propagandists and the many others who have not taken the trouble to read Myatt’s extensive post-2012 writings the question of whether Myatt is still a neo-nazi is inseparably bound up with two questions about the O9A.

Which two questions are: (1) is the O9A a neo-nazi Occult movement?, and (2) is David Myatt really Anton Long, founder of the O9A, author of over 95% of its texts, creator of its ‘Seven Fold Way’ and who, as Grand Master, still operates behind the scenes despite having (apparently) retired?

The propagandists – such as those in the special interest political pressure group named Hope Not Hate (HnH) which is adept at manufacturing and spreading “fake news” (that is, propaganda and disinformation) about those they consider are their enemies [6] – claim that the O9A is neo-nazi, that Myatt is Anton Long and is still active in the O9A. Yet such purveyors of propaganda and disinformation never provide any evidence for their claims with their “fake news” replete with factual errors, revealing of a lack of detailed research or often a lack of any research at all, and often based on logical fallacies such as consensus gentium, the fallacy of incomplete evidence, argumentum ad populum, argumentum ad verecundiam, secundum quid et simpliciter, and of course on argumentum ad hominem.

Hence why for example in the five pages devoted to the O9A and to Myatt in the recent 2019 report issued by HnH, there are at least fourteen factual errors [6], no evidence for their disinformation that Myatt is Anton Long and still a neo-nazi, and a complete lack of understanding of, a lack of research into, the nature of the O9A based as their propagandistic and often sensationalist claims about the O9A are on the fallacy of incomplete evidence, consensus gentium, and secundum quid et simpliciter.

This lack of research into the O9A and the committal of such fallacies are obvious in the fact that “insight roles” and “culling” and Occult ceremonies are not considered in that report in the context of the individualistic and decades-long Seven Fold Way with its aim of attaining Lapis Philosophicus. Which context reveals “insight roles” and “culling” and Occult ceremonies in texts such as the Black Book of Satan occupy only around a year forming as they do some of the tasks of the External Adept, the third stage of the Seven Fold Way. [7]

The lack of research and the committal of such fallacies by propagandists and many others are also obvious in the fact that, as a study of the O9A corpus reveals [8], for the O9A exoteric ideas such as neo-nazism and satanism are considered as merely useful causal forms, as abstractions, with a practical involvement with such causal forms forming just a small part of the possible learning experiences that an External Adept may find useful.

For correctly understood, via a thorough study of the O9A corpus, the O9A is neither satanist nor neo-nazi and as a practical movement in the real world is based more on anarchy than on anything else. [9]

To conclude, my research into the O9A and into the life and the post-2012 writings of David Myatt convinces me that he is not now a neo-nazi, not involved with the O9A, with the O9A itself being an anarchic Occult movement which has no leader and which espouses an individualistic and anarchic praxis.

Part Two
The Myattian Saga Continues

In the decades long and on-going saga of whether or not David Myatt is or was Anton Long of Order of Nine Angles (ONA, O9A) fame {1} some of Mr Myatt’s latest writings are intriguing and seem to provide more proof that, as he has maintained all along, he is not and was not Anton Long, founder of the O9A, author of most of its vast Occult corpus, and “paramount to the whole creation and existence of the ONA.” {2}

These latest writings of his include the two part In Defence Of The Catholic Church {3} and his Persecution And War {4}. His In Defence Of The Catholic Church as the title indicates is a defence of the Catholic Church, and in particular in respect of allegations of sexual abuse by priests and monks. The article is based on his personal experience of the Catholic religion from boy to Catholic monk. His Persecution And War is a fascinating, if somewhat annoyingly brief, autobiographical account of some of his experiences as a visiting Catholic in Northern Ireland during The Troubles and of how those experiences helped him when he came to develop his philosophy of pathei mathos.

In part one of In Defence Of The Catholic Church he has many positive things to say about the Catholic Church. Mentioning some medieval liturgical music he writes that he is

“so reminded how the Roman Catholic Church inspired such numinosity, such beauty, century following century. For it is as if such music presenced the Divine to thus remind us, we fallible error-prone mortals, of another realm beyond the material and beyond our own mortal desires.”

He goes on to write that he

“from personal experience appreciate[s] that for all its many faults – recent and otherwise – and despite my disagreement regarding some of its teachings it still on balance does, at least in my fallible opinion, presence – as it has for centuries presenced – aspects of the numinous and which presencing has over centuries, again in my fallible opinion, had a beneficial affect on many human beings.”

He then recounts a journey of his in Africa, commenting about the Christian folk he met that he

“admired them and respected their belief and understood what that faith seemed to have given them. Who was – who am – I to try and preach to them, to judge them and that faith? I was – I am – just one fallible human being who believes he may have some personal and fallible answers to certain questions; just one person among billions aware of his past arrogance and his suffering-causing mistakes.”

As for the allegations of sexual abuse made against priests and monks he is adamant, based on his personal experiences as a Catholic and especially as a Catholic monk, that “they, and the few others like them over the years, were the exception” and that those who believe otherwise commit the logical fallacy of a dicto secundum quid ad dictum simpliciter, which basically is to use particular individual cases to form a general rule to then use that rule to describe, and thence to blame, or to castigate, or to defame a whole group. {5}

Such statements by Myatt regarding Catholicism, and such personal feelings as he describes, are not those of a Satanist and not those of someone who associating with the O9A is expected to despise both Christianity in all its forms and Christians themselves. {6}

Part two of his In Defence Of The Catholic Church presents a theological defence of the actions, the response, of the Catholic hierarchy when cases of sexual abuse by priests and monks were made known to them. This is the more interesting part of his article since this theological defence is not only clearly explained by Myatt but also has seldom featured in all the media and other criticism of the response of the Catholic hierarchy.

Myatt’s argument is that in regard to the individuals involved, the Catholic church has a higher spiritual responsibility. Which is to consider and take care of their eternal souls and thus apply the Catholic “sacrament of penance and reconciliation” to them.

Naturally in the modern world of the capitalist West with its secular governments and secular laws this theological view is not popular. Nor a view which many would even consider or understand. Which explains why some States in America, and governments in other lands, have tried to introduce secular laws to break such things as the Catholic “seal of the confessional”. {7}

That Myatt presents and defends a Christian theological argument is not something a Satanist nor someone associating with the O9A would do.

In his Persecution And War Myatt uses his “Catholic remembering” – of Catholic civilians killed by the British army in Northern Ireland – to make a point about prejudice, intolerance, and propaganda, concluding that

“the real tragedy is that events similar to those of my very personal remembering have occurred on a vaster scale millennia after millennia and are still occurring, again on a vaster scale and world-wide, despite us having access to the wisdom of the past.”

These again are not the kind of things a Satanist nor someone associating with the O9A would write.

One final point deserves mentioning. The erudite nature of the articles. There are, as to be expected with Myatt, quotations from the ancient Greek together with his own translations, quotations in Old English and Latin as well as detailed explanations of terms such as “sin” in relation to the New Testament with relevant quotations from the Greek New Testament again with his own translations.

Conclusion

It is conceivable that believers in the Myatt=Long theory, who exist both outside and within the O9A and who seem intent on demonizing Myatt if for different reasons, will in support of that theory claim that someone who was O9A might be devious enough – à la O9A year long Insight Roles – to pretend to write or act as someone who has a diametrically opposite personal character or life to his or her own. Hence someone O9A dialectically praising Christianity.

The fundamental flaw to such a claim in respect of Myatt is that he has been writing similar and consistent things about Christianity, Catholicism, and about prejudice and intolerance since at least 2011, and since then has also penned voluminous other writings about his philosophy of pathei mathos, about compassion, humility, and extremism which echo the sentiments found in the recent writings we have been discussing.

As someone wrote in this regard in 2016,

“All these sentiments, these feelings, are so consistent over so many years, chime so well with his poetry, with the feelings that run through his pre-2009 letters, with his autobiography Myngath, and with post-2011 writings about his philosophy of pathei-mathos, that it seems inconceivable to me that they are artful constructions – fakes – by someone else (or some others) or the product of some ‘sinister trickster’ who has consciously adopted a certain persona in order to try and fool people. Also, what they express is a mysticism, a reverence for and an appreciation of the numinous, so at odds with the ethos and the practice of Satanism – of whatever variety – that it is also inconceivable that they were written by a Satanist or even by a practising Occultist.” {8}

One has for instance only to read essays by Myatt such as his Numinous Expiation {9} and Catholic Still In Spirit? {10} and his book Understanding and Rejecting Extremism {11} to appreciate this.

These latest writings therefore on balance provide more proof that Myatt is not and was not Anton Long. As I wrote in my article Demonizing Mr Myatt,

“The demonizers of Myatt have ignored such things because those things reveal a very different Myatt. One at odds with the ‘sinister’ image of him they have all in their own way strived to manufacture and have propagated in pursuit of their aims. For the image of Myatt that emerges from his poetry and his post 2011 writings is of a reclusive man who regrets his extremist past, who values virtues such as empathy and compassion.” {12}

Myatt: A Premature Grieving

David Myatt

°°°°°°°

A Premature Grieving

A recent occurrence, although expected for some years, saddened me expressing as it seemed to do something about our human physis; about how for so many people our physis does not seem to have evolved that much, if at all, despite our thousands of years old human culture of pathei-mathos.

The occurrence was the publication of a report – by a well-financed, now Establishment, advocacy group – in two parts of which report I was repeatedly mentioned, with the author of those parts making various allegations about me for which he provided no evidence; who misattributed certain quotations to me; who made fundamental and multiple factual errors; who committed various logical fallacies; who was generally biased and dishonourable and who thus rather than promoting hope and fairness promoted old-world hostility toward and a stereotyping of particular individuals.

My resigned sadness was because for that author it was as if propaganda on behalf of some cause came before, was more important than, truth and empathy; as if there was for that author no personal belief in redemption, in the possibility of individuals changing for the better, except insofar – perchance – as such change was toward the cause he believed in; and thus as if the author was selective, judgemental, about those given the benefit of the doubt using the ideology of some cause, or their own prejudice, rather than humanity, as the criteria of judgement.

As I wrote in 2012:

“could my career as an extremist have been brought to an earlier end had one or some of my opponents taken the trouble to get to know me personally and rationally revealed to me the error of my suffering-causing, unethical, extremist ways? Perhaps; perhaps not – I admit I do not know. I do know, however, how my personal interaction with, and the ethical behaviour of, the Police I interacted with from the time of my arrest by officers from SO12 in 1998, permanently changed (for the better) my attitude toward the Police.” [1]

Instead of an empathic, a human, an honourable approach the author preferred propaganda, repeating the stereotyping he used almost two decades ago. Thus my extensive writings in the past eight years about rejecting all forms of extremism, my extensive and intensely personal writings regarding my struggle to reform myself as a result of pathei-mathos, were ignored. [2]

“Thus am I humbled, once more, by such knowing feeling of the burden made from my so heavy past; so many errors, mistakes. So many to humble me here, now, by such profusion as becomes prehension of centuries past and passing, bringing as such a passing does such gifts of they now long beyond life’s ending who crafted from faith, feeling, experience, living, love, those so rich presents replete with meaning; presenting thus to us if only for a moment – fleeting as Thrush there feeding – that knowing of ourselves as beings who by empathy, life, gifts, and love, can cease to be some cause of suffering.

For no longer is there such a need – never was there such a need – to cause such suffering as we, especially I, have caused. For are not we thinking thoughtful beings – possessed of the numinous will to love?

But my words, my words – so unlike such musick [Dunstable: Preco preheminencie] – fail: such finite insubstantial things; such a weak conduit for that flowing of wordless feeling that, as such musick, betakes us far out beyond our causal selves to where we are, can be, should be, must be, the non-interfering beauty of a moment; a sublime life seeking only to so gently express that so gentle love that so much faith has sometimes so vainly so tried to capture, express, and manifest; as when that boyish man as monk past Compline knelt in gentleness to feel to become such peace, such a human happiness, as so many others have felt centuries past and present, one moment flowing so numinously to another.” [3]

Yet, as I wrote some years ago,

“”I harbour no resentment against individuals, or organizations, or groups, who over the past forty or so years have publicly and/or privately made negative or derogatory comments about me or published items making claims about me.

Indeed, I now find myself in the rather curious situation of not only agreeing with some of my former political opponents on many matters, but also (perhaps) of understanding (and empathizing with) their motivation; a situation which led and which leads me to appreciate even more just how lamentable my extremism was and just how arrogant, selfish, wrong, and reprehensible, I as a person was, and how in many ways many of those former opponents were and are (ex concesso) better people than I ever was or am.

Which is one reason why I have written what I have recently written about extremism and my extremist past: so that perchance someone or some many may understand extremism, and its causes, better and thus be able to avoid the mistakes I made, avoid causing the suffering I caused; or be able to in some way more effectively counter or prevent such extremism in the future. And one reason – only one – why I henceforward must live in reclusion and in silencio.” [4]

That I have now broken such self-imposed silence is the result of my resigned sadness regarding how far we mortals still have to travel to be able to live, en masse, empathic and compassionate lives, and of how so many individuals still – from whatever personal motive or because of some cause or ideology – promote old-world hostility toward and a stereotyping of particular individuals.

Perhaps the goddess Δίκη will touch some of those so many hostile individuals, for as Aeschylus wrote,

“Δίκα δὲ τοῖς μὲν παθοῦσιν μαθεῖν ἐπιρρέπει:
τὸ μέλλον δ᾽, ἐπεὶ γένοιτ᾽, ἂν κλύοις: πρὸ χαιρέτω:
ἴσον δὲ τῷ προστένειν.

“Δίκη favours someone learning from adversity:
But I shall hear of what will be, after it comes into being:
Before then, I leave it,
Otherwise, it is the same as a premature grieving.” [5]

Which is yet one more reason why I am still learning and still have far to travel, for that recent occurrence brought a premature grieving.

Twelve Basic Errors

°°°°°°°°°

Order of Nine Angles

O9A

°°°°°°°°°

Exposing Twelve Basic Errors
Or, How To Spread Fake News

In a recent report much quoted in mainstream Media the anti-fascist ‘special interest’ group calling itself “Hope not hate” devoted two sections (pages 80-85) to the Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA) and David Myatt.

The shoddy and propagandistic – the “fake news” – nature of the report is evident in the fact that in those two sections there are over twelve basic, factual, errors ranging from outright fabrications to misquotations.

Another fundamental – damning – flaw is that various O9A and other articles are quoted but without providing references to the date and place of publication and without giving the name of the author on the original text with some articles which are falsely attributed to Myatt having been written by others.

Other fundamental flaws are that the author of the sections on the O9A and Myatt provided no evidence for their many assumptions (such as that Myatt=Long) and did not balance their claims by asking those they libelled for their comments.

That the mainstream Media published articles which extensively quoted from the pages about the O9A and Myatt in the report yet did not have its journalists ask those maligned by the report for comments, and did not have its journalists check the facts beforehand, is indicative of how even the mainstream Media is complicit in spreading “fake news”.

Had a mainstream journalist or journalists bothered to check the facts they would have found the following.

§ Quote: “For Myatt, satanism and fascism are inextricably linked.” p.84

A fabrication by the author, since Myatt in his extensive critique of Occultism first published in 1997 by Renaissance Press in New Zealand wrote:

“National-Socialism and Occultism are fundamentally, and irretrievably, incompatible and opposed to each other.” {1}

§ The author gives a quote allegedly written by Myatt: “National Socialism is the only real theory in existence, since it is based solely on the highest ideals of Honour, Loyalty and Duty, championed over and above selfish individual pursuits. It calls for a revolution of the Soul; a Triumph of the Will; a return of racial pride and defiance. In a very important sense, National Socialism IS contemporary Paganism.” p.84

The author not only misquotes the original text but mistakenly attributes it to Myatt.

° The correct quotation is:

“National Socialism (with the esoteric exception of Traditional Satanism) is the only real Heresy in existence, since it is based solely on the highest ideals of Honour, Loyalty and Duty, championed over and above selfish individual pursuits. It calls for a revolution of the Soul; a Triumph of the Will; a return of racial pride and defiance – of all that epitomizes the genuine Western ethos. It is a form that cannot be bought by The System, and thus the only option for the latter is to jail or kill National Socialists, and smash through innumerable legislative variations National Socialist influence, naturally dormant in the Western – or Aryan – people. It is the only form which frightens The System, and is thus the only form capable of achieving System Breakdown.”

The quotation is from a Temple 88 newsletter published in a compilation by Caput Mortuum in May 2004 via a now defunct website. {2}

° In addition and importantly, according to the Anti-Defamation League

“the berserker brotherhood is a relatively new motorcycle division of temple 88, a white supremacist group that describes itself as a brotherhood of white separatists. The berserker brotherhood colors have a skull in the middle of an iron cross, flanked on the right by the number 88. One anonymous berserker brotherhood member claimed on a social networking Web site that temple 88 originally formed in South Carolina’s Allendale Correctional Institute.” {3}

§ Quote: “The three volumes of The Black Book of Satan are considered so extreme that they are kept is a special section of the British Library and not available to the general public.” p.81

In fact, only two versions of the first volume are kept in the British Library. The first version was published in 1984 and is at General Reference Collection Cup.815/51.

The second version was published in 1992 under the title Codex Saerus and is at General Reference Collection YK.1994.b.12337.

Other O9A items kept in the British Library include the rare edition of Naos: a practical guide to modern magick published by Coxland Press in 1990, available at General Reference Collection YK.1993.a.13307.

§ Quote: “O9A literature regularly advocates ritualised rape, random attacks on innocent victims.” p.81

A fabrication by the author.

A study of the O9A corpus from the 1980s to 2018 – from the pro-Sapphic novel Breaking The Silence Down {4} to the essay The Anti-Patriarchal O9A Ethos {5} – reveals the O9A attitude toward women, with the O9A code of kindred honour embodying respect for women and gender equality {5} and with the O9A having “more female supporters than either the Church of Satan or the Temple of Set [and] more women with children.” {6}

Nowhere in the corpus of O9A texts written by “Anton Long” between the 1970s and 2011 does the O9A advocate rape.

In fact the O9A consider rapists as suitable candidates for culling {7}.

In addition, nowhere in the corpus of O9A texts written by “Anton Long” between the 1970s and 2011 does the O9A advocate random attacks on innocent victims.

§ Quote: “The ceremony ends with the killing of a chosen one; in a symbolic sacrifice, an animal replaces a person.” p.81

The ceremony in question is The Ceremony of Recalling and nowhere is there any mention of sacrificing an animal, which is fabrication by the author. The ceremony is included in the text Grimoire of Baphomet.

In addition, O9A texts dating from the 1980s and 1990s reveal that they “despise animal sacrifice.” {8}

§ Quote: “When asked in 2005 if the O9A were posing as nazis to recruit and spread their message, Myatt – writing under the name Darkos Lago – responded: You seem to have missed the point about ONA and National Socialism.” p. 82

Where is the evidence for the propagandistic assumption that Myatt used that or any other pseudonym? The author provides no evidence whatsoever.

In addition, rhe author not only gets the year wrong but misattributes the quote. The post was published in 2016 on the “right-wing” Stormfront internet forum by Dark Logos not by Darkos Lago {9}.

§ Quote: “To Myatt, Satanism represented the Black Order, the only force that could unlock the stranglehold [of] the White Order.” p. 84

A fabrication, for Myatt does not mention a “Black Order” and a “White Order” in any of his writings, be such writings from his time as a National Socialist (1968-1998), as a Muslim (1998-2009) or as an advocate of his numinous way/philosophy of pathei-mathos (2010-present).

Neither does “Anton Long” mention a “Black Order” and a “White Order” in any of his writings.

§ Quote: “In an interview as recently as 2013, Myatt explained their strategy. “Insofar as I understand the matter, it seems that the ‘satanic’ overtones of the ONA serves several subversive purposes.” p.83.

The quoted text was not an interview with Myatt, was not published in 2013 but was posted in 2016 on the “right-wing” Stormfront internet forum by Dark Logos {9}.

§ Quote: “In the 1990s the leadership of the O9A was taken over by Richard Moult.”

The author reveals a basic lack of understanding of the O9A. For there is not and never was a “leader” of the O9A, as a study of the O9A corpus from the 1980s to 2018 makes clear. {10}

According to Professor Monette the O9A

“is not a structured lodge or temple, but rather a movement, a subculture or perhaps metaculture that its adherents choose to embody or identify with.” {11}

That is, the O9A is a collection of autonomous cells (nexions) and individuals who follow or who are inspired by the Occult philosophy and practices described in the O9A corpus.

§ Quote: “In 2001 I met David Myatt in a Shropshire pub, close to where he shared a caravan with Richard Moult.”

The author fabricates where both Myatt and Moult then lived. At the time Myatt lived in the village of Leigh Sinton near Malvern with his wife and family while Moult lived with his female partner on a farm near Lydbury North in Shropshire.

These facts were known to both the police and MI5 since Myatt was under surveillance following his arrest by Special Branch in 1998 and his interrogation in 1999 by the anti-terrorist squad in relation to Copeland’s nail-bomb attacks in London. At the time of the interview with Lowles, Myatt was still on bail following his 1998 arrest with one of his bail conditions being that he attend Charing Cross police station on a regular basis.

In addition, the places of residence could be confirmed by County Council tax reports, by tax returns from HM Revenue and Customs, and by other official documents, with Myatt at the time working on a farm near Malvern.

Myatt’s version of the interview with Lowles {12} provides a different version of the events.

§ Errors on pseudonyms.

The author gets the following pseudonyms wrong. He has

° Christos Beast – instead of Christos Beest
° Darkos Lago – instead of Dark Logos
° A. A. Morian – instead of A. A. Morain
° Michael Mouthwork – instead of Michael Morthwork

§ Logical Fallacies.

The author of the sections on the O9A and Myatt commits two basic logical fallacies.

° First, he commits the fallacy of Incomplete Evidence, Which is, to quote Myatt, {13} “when material concerning or assumptions about a particular matter are selected and presented to support a particular argument or conclusion, while other material or assumptions which do not support, which contradict, the chosen argument or conclusion are withheld or not discussed. In effect, selective evidence and/or selective argument are used in order to ‘prove’ a particular point.”

The author thus omits to mention or quote from O9A texts which contradict his assumptions or which place into context the quotations he uses. The author also omits to quote from Myatt’s extensive post-2010 writings about his rejection of extremism and about his mystical, ethical, philosophy of pathei-mathos; quotations which would provide Myatt’s side of the story.

In the case of the O9A the author does not, for example, in the matter of “culling” mention or quote from O9A texts which reveal that there is wide diversity of opinion within the O9A as to whether O9A culling is real or merely part of its Labyrinthos Mythologicus {14} and thus just

“a test of occult intuition and a test also designed to put many people off, cause controversy and so generate interest in the O9A.” {15}

As Richard Moult recently wrote:

“Regarding culling: I have always understood this to be a mischievous aspect of the O9A’s Labyrinthos Mythologicus, and during my time associated with its Septenary techniques, I experienced nothing to suggest otherwise.” {16}

The same questions regarding the O9A’s Labyrinthos Mythologicus apply in the matter of the O9A suggesting Insight Roles that may involve criminal acts.

° Second, the author of the sections in the report dealing with the O9A and Myatt commits the fallacy of secundum quid et simpliciter. Which is the use of particular individual cases to form a general rule to then use that rule to describe, and thence to blame, or to castigate, or to defame a whole group.

Thus the author uses selective quotes from people who have associated themselves with the O9A and uses his selection to describe and to defame the O9A.

Trusting In Fake News

So many errors and flaws in so few pages exposes the sections on the O9A and Myatt in the report as untrustworthy, as “fake news”, as propaganda designed to discredit written by an author with a particular political agenda.

The sections on the O9A and Myatt are also a masterclass in how to write, distribute, and have the mainstream Media publish fake news, to thus get the public to believe and spread such fake news.

A Rotten System

odal3

°°°°°°°

We are not surprised that mainstream newspapers publish the propaganda lies of a hateful propagandist financed by a Zionist billionaire {1} without bothering to check the facts or give the person who is being lied about the opportunity to give their side of the story.

For that is how the vast majority of newspapers now operate: as purveyors of gossip and propaganda with little or no regard for the truth knowing full well that ordinary citizens in a land such as Britain will not sue for libel because they cannot afford to since only the wealthy can afford to pursue a claim of defamation through courts of law.

In other words the journalists and publishers of such newspapers are part of the rotten and rotting system that exists in nearly all the lands of the modern materialistic West, led as those lands are by egoistic politicians or, as Myatt wrote in 2010 in a perceptive essay {2} by politicians with their own personal (sometimes emotive) political agenda and/or by the agendas of whatever special interest groups have helped them get elected.

“Such special interest groups invariably include those with particular business and political concerns who have the financial resources to employ professional lobbyists, Media consultants, and propagandists.

The result is that the political party and/or particular advocacy groups who have the most money during elections campaigns, and who have the support of a substantial part of the Media, and/or who have a candidate for high office who is a persuasive public speaker, influence the result of elections, having persuaded or influenced the percentage of people necessary to win an election.

In other words, modern elections have become an often cynical process of targeting, persuading, and influencing, people […]

[Another] problem with modern democracy is that modern politicians – with only a few exceptions – have mastered and use the art of propaganda, evident in their inability to be open and honest about their own failings and culpability while in public office, and in their inability to be honest about the failure of the policies of their government. Instead, they are adroit at manufacturing excuses, or shifting the blame away from themselves and government policies, or are disingenuous when answering questions or when addressing concerns about their culpability or that of their government […]

The always well-off political clique will continue to laud it over the poor and those whose ‘front-line’ public service keeps society functioning. The self-perpetuating political clique will continue to makes excuses for their own failures, for declining public services, for government failure to solve social problems, and for increasing poverty, homelessness, and crime.” {2}

Myatt’s solution is somewhat reminiscent of the idealism inherent in both fascism and National Socialism, albeit that this idealism has been been almost air-brushed out of history by concerted anti-fascist and anti-NS propaganda campaigns during and after the Second World War. Propaganda campaigns such as the ones about “the holocaust” which continue to this day; and propaganda campaigns such as the one being waged today by a “grubby little propagandist” at the behest of a Zionist billionaire which involves rants about fascist and nazi “hate” speech, the hateful dehumanizing of opponents, the praising of multi-racialism, and telling lies about people, all under the pretence of “defeating hate”.

Myatt wrote that the solution is

“to reform modern democracy so that leaders and politicians must have such personal character-revealing experience as qualifies them to lead and to govern, with that personal experience consisting of proven and years-long ‘front line’ service to their country and to their people such as in the armed forces or serving as a ‘first responder’ in such occupations as paramedic, a police officer, and in the Fire & Rescue service.”

This solution could easily be applied to broadcasters, to journalists, to the publishers of newspapers and to the owners of media organizations.

Until the day of such reforms arrives the purveyors of gossip and propaganda via means such as newspapers and ‘special interest’ groups will continue with their grubby trade.

A Grubby Little Propagandist

Nick Lowles

°°°°°°°°°

Nick Lowles – born 1968, aka Nicholas Lloyd Lowles, and leader of the leftist group Hate Not Hope {1} financed by Zionist billionaire George Soros – has used his Media connections and those of his mentor Soros to call for an immediate police investigation into the anti-Zionist Order of Nine Angles and into David Myatt’s role in it.

Lowles told reporters that “the Order of Nine Angles is the world’s most extreme satanist group and its key objective is to cause the overthrow of society”.

He went on to repeat his propaganda lies about the O9A and to repeat his libellous allegation that Myatt is “a key figure in the Order of Nine Angles” for which allegation he did not provide, and never has provided, any evidence whatsoever, ignoring as he does in his propaganda rants Myatt’s extensive post-2011 writings about his mystic Numinous Way (the philosophy of pathei-mathos) and about Myatt’s rejection of extremism, a rejection explained in Myatt’s books such as Understanding And Rejecting Extremism {2} and in his autobiography Myngath {3}.

That chameleon Lowles has an abiding hatred of Myatt, dating from the 1990s, is well-known in fascist circles with Lowles sometimes being referred to as “the poison dwarf”.

Yet in Aeonic terms Myatt may well have the last laugh. For the following quotation and comment was posted on an internet forum devoted to the views and life-stories of women on the same day that motor-mouth Lowles was yet again busy spreading his grubby hateful lies about Myatt to any reporters who would listen.

[begin quote]

“The uncomfortable truth is that we, we men, are and have been the ones causing, needing, participating in, wars and conflicts. We – not women – are the cause of most of the suffering, death, destruction, hate, violence, brutality, and killing, that has occurred and which is still occurring, thousand year upon thousand year; just as we are the ones who seek to be – or who often need to be – prideful and ‘in control’; and the ones who through greed or alleged need or because of some ideation have saught to exploit not only other human beings but the Earth itself. We are also masters of deception; of the lie. Cunning with our excuses, cunning in persuasion, and skilled at inciting hatred and violence. And yet we men have also shown ourselves to be, over thousands of years, valourous; capable of noble, selfless, deeds. Capable of doing what is fair and restraining ourselves from doing what is unethical. Capable of a great and a gentle love. This paradoxy continues to perplex me.” {4}

Pretty inspiring words coming from a former extremist.

[end quote]

For history teaches us that propaganda lies, over centuries, seldom if ever endure.
